Leftover Korean BBQ and green beans. Drank Dale's Pale Ale. Blueberries on a scoop of vanilla bean gelato for dessert.

Happy Friday! Hope everyone enjoys the Memorial Day weekend!

A deep fryer or an air fryer?

Tonight will be Old Bay spiced steamed chilled shrimp -- found some P&D wild caught red Argentinian shrimp, so half the work is already done -- and a mixed greens salad with all the lovely lettuces from the farmer's market. Strawberries for dessert, if they're still good at the market, or blueberries if the season has turned.

The Ina Garten meatloaf recipe. It has 3 cups of sautéed onion in it. My glaze was tomato paste, maple syrup, cider vinegar, and whole seed moutard a l’ancienne. Burger from a good butcher.

Spoiled brat will be starting the smoker in a few hours, as soon as all the chances of rain have passed by. We are doing ribs, corn on the cob and I will make a nice green salad. I am hoping, when I hit the farmers market this morning they will have fresh beets. If not, I have plenty of veggies if we need something more.

Bachelor Son is scouting the woods today for wild morels. I think he feels guilty about cleaning out the refrigerator yesterday. Not necessary because I encouraged it. We eat small amounts these days and he's a handy device for getting rid of leftovers. LOL

Anyway he says if he has luck he will bring some for us. If so, we'll have some in egg, cracker crumbs and butter with burgers or elk steak on the grill and a salad. I'll dry the rest for winter cooking. It's getting late in the season but has been too cold and rainy to produce much. Chef Daughter picked a generous amount by the river the other day. Haven't heard a murmur from her about sharing. Heh.

We've got a brief window of outdoor activity before another monsoon comes through. Hope I'll find a way to dry them without the sun. Will have to google. They are wonderfully intense reconstituted in a sauce or soup.

DH took his motorcycle "down home" to decorate the graves today and I'm going to try to get the last of my bedding plants in.
