I have to agree on the fried ground beef. It makes me gag. OTOH frying beef strips for fajitas doesn't bother me.

Parmesan cheese. My husband sprinkles it over spaghetti and it smells like someone has just vomited.
Liver smells like someone is trying to cook metal.

There's a reason for that: Butyric acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Can't handle the smell of fried ground beef either. gag.

What's worse though, if you haven't had the pleasure, is mince.

It's a Scottish dish, where you boil the ground beef with onion and salt, then when it's finished, you poor the whole sloppy greasy mess over mashed potatoes.

Used to love it.

Default Cumin and Stuff

For some reason I abhor the smell of cumin. I ate some when I was a child by accident. I thought it was cinnamon, so I ended up making cumin toast instead of cinnamon toast. Gross. Now it makes me want to gag.

I also dislike the smell of eggs. Caribbean people take the white bits (embryos?) off of the yolk before we cook eggs. We believe that those parts cause that barfy egg-y taste and smell. If I make custards or omelets, I have to season the heck out of the dish and really mix the eggs in to avoid tasting or smelling the "raish"--which is what we call that eggy taste.

My family also soaks meat in vinegar or lemon juice and water before cooking it. Then we marinate it and THEN we cook it. When I eat meat that's not properly clean and marinated, it makes me feel really ill and the smell and taste are disgusting. I have eaten rare steak, but just because of peer pressure. I think it's gross.

I do my ground beef in the microwave. Not a lot of odor and much cleaner than on the stove.

Unfortunately you can't do it in just any container. I have an older T-ware thingy that I use.
