Is it? I don't see anything wrong with it. I would just put some in a small cup (not filled up) whenever I have a sweet tooth.
Do you mean pancake syrup whose base is REAL maple syrup or stuff like Log Cabin, Aunt Jemima, Mrs. Butterworth's, etc. (which have no REAL maple syrup or virtually none)? I have a strong dislike for most maple smells and flavors, so personally, drinking maple or lite maple syrup would be gross to ME. However, if YOU like it then more power to you. Do not be cowwed by the looks of disapproval and scornful comments of those around you. I have been known to drink several teaspoons of molasses, non-maple syrups, real sorghum syrup, fruit syrups, and other table syrups...just NO maple syrup or that fake-tasting and ultra-nasty artificially-flavored butter-pecan syrup from IHOP.
I once had a friend who would stir a tablespoon of maple syrup into a glass of milk (it was probably Log Cabin or Aunt Jemima, not REAL--though Log Cabin does have the pure stuff now.)
My brother used to drink Hershey's out of the can.
Well I did it again. This time I had some Rice Crispies cereal with a touch of milk and smothered it with syrup. Yum!
My wife saw me doing it and she said next time I do it she'll call a couple of orderlies to come pick me up 'cause I'm nuts!
Yikes, even with my sugar-filled body, thats still too much! A little on my waffles maybe on a Saturday morning, but straight, yikes!
I do, though, drink the juice from green olive jars.
We all have our little "fixes"... I used to eat cake frosting from the container when I was a kid... now that I think back about it... YUCK!
