I bought one of those handheld choppers I forgot the name, like Bonzai or something. They work okay with softer veggies and fruit, but potatoes give me a work out from punching the handle so much! Cleaning it is ridiculous, half the time I forget I have it anyway...
I've been wondering about the Magic Bullet and the Green bags as well, saw them at Walmart, makes it more tempting to buy than on tv, anyone know anything??
Bed bath and beyond has the TV green bags.
They do keep the produce longer, so I will have to say they have saved me alot of money in produce saved from "frig rot"
I wash them out and have been using the same bags for 6 months.
When I was a child in England we always had chamois around for general cleaning and it would seem that the Sham Wow is a similar synthetic variation. Green bags are awesome and I wouldn't be without them in my restaurant. They keep fresh produce fresh for MUCH longer than usual and I get several uses out of each bag, just rinse them out and hang them to dry. I did get one batch which had poorly constructed seams which fell apart. And you MUST make sure that what goes into them is dry, otherwise the whole effect is lost.
On the total failure side, a friend bought me a battery-operated gizmo which grabs onto the lids of hard-to-open jars and allegedly pops them right off. Darn thing slipped and flew across the kitchen like a whirling dervish - good job there was nobody in the way of its trajectory as they probably would have ended up with a nasty ding. Never used it again and hopefully someone will take it at the next yard sale! Cheers!
Last Christmas, I bought the Tater Mitts.
After getting home and reading the instructions,
I saw that they only worked on pre boiled potatoes.
I then returned them without trying.
I wonder how many times we do all the things Mr Sham-wow does as a demonstation? How many times do you spill soda on a carpet?
LOL....I live with a Messy Hubby....a dramatic six year old....and an overly enthusiastic four year old.... we have spills of coffee, soda, water, apple juice.....LOL
