Has anyone bought any of these "As seen on TV" gadgets for your kitchen? How did they do?

Kitchen gadgets NO...but did buy a shower spray cleaner from Home Depot that was advertised on TV.
They say to press the button and a revolving spray will clean the shower door and walls in a few days.
The catch is to buy the bottles of refill (expensive in my book).
Does it work???? YES.......it does work for about 6 months and then starts to clean (spray) every other time. Tried NEW batteries 2-3 times...nothing but problems.
Being a retired mechanic...took it apart thinking that the plastic gears might need Wd lube or cleaning.
Everything inside looked okay and clean...no sign of rust. Problem might be the small diodes inside that I've no way of checking.
My solution was to buy a large 1/2 or 1 gal size bottle of shower/tub cleaner concentrate. I use a empty bottle with a hand pump (old windex works okay) and make a 1/2 & 1/2 solution of the cleaner and water. After each shower I spray on the walls and floor which does a pretty good job without any scrubbing. Steve

Things I've bought that were "seen on TV" and supposedly not available in stores.

The Shiwala (funny looking mop for washing your car): Bought it back in the 90's, liked it. So did someone else, evidently, because it was stolen from my garage!

Ginsu Knives: Got them as a gift, as a joke, so didn't actually buy them. Actually liked them, but I'm no chef. I think they eventually got dull, but I'm sure I used them for inappropriate things.

Mighty Putty: Bought it about a year ago. It worked great at first, but in about a month everything I had "puttied" came apart or fell down again.

Huggable Hangers: Bought them for my boyfriend's closet, since he couldn't fit all his clothes in, and I didn't want him spreading to my closet. They feel flimsy, but are (so far) strong enough and haven't broken. And he found space to buy more clothes...

Stickup Bulbs: Battery powered light bulbs that you can mount anywhere. Mounted it in a closet that has no electric light. Light still works, but kept falling off the wall (adhesive not strong enough). So mounted it with Mighty Putty (see above) and it fell after a month. Now it's basically a hand-held flashlight for a dim closet.

MY coworkers bought the GT Express (some thing to cook in) and they both LOVE it.

I know two different people who bought the Bow-Flex (exercise machine). They both became very expensive clothes hangers.

I'm now enamored with the Sham-Wow, a towel that soaks up like gallons of liquid. I'll probably have to break down and order it in January. Anyone tried it? I have a dog that comes in from the rain and leaves a flood all over the floor.
I do, however, HATE that shouting guy on most of those commercials!

I don't own anything by Ronco or Popeil though. Don't know why.

I have a GT Express and I like mine too. It was a "buy 1 get 1 free" deal that my grandmother did, and she gave me the free one. I thought it was a piece of crap at first, but after experimenting with it I have come to like it. It makes the best cornbread.

I've been wondering about those, too! I hope someone responds!!!

I have at-home physical therapy and my PT bought me one of those "Get a Grip" handles for the bathroom to see if they work. It does, and I'll probably buy more.

However, the commercial shows people putting them on their boats and using them as steps. NO WAY! The suction cups lose their suction after several hours of non-use and slip. Heh, I wonder if those people got stuck on the top deck after sunbathing?!

Next time watch the Sham-Wow very carefully.
There is a small puddle of water towards the camera and a second later when he is to use the Sham-Wow the over spill of water is not there to be picked up...where did it go????
He taps the Sham-Wow lightly with a fist and supposedly it absorbs the water and he proceeds to wring out the water....don't know...I keep watching the same thing every time to make sure I'm seeing the same thing properly. I am... I am. Steve

I think the Shamwow might be ok. We were playing around with one at work and it picked up and held quite a bit of water without dripping at all. We didn't actually use it for anything, but it is very absorbent.
I've also got one of those magic touch can openers, love it, except for the fact the the battery compartment is on the underside, completely unacessable if the batteries die while your using the darn thing. Then it's a PITA

I have one of those too. Mine seems to want to keep running sometimes and I have to push the little button on the bottom to get it to retract.

I've never bought anything advertised on TV, but I admit that those green bags that are supposed to preserve fruits and vegetables are pretty tempting.
