Where is your proof?
Most people that I know are lactose intolerant.
Um, you originally wrote that most people IN THE U.S.A. were lactose intolerant, not most people that you know.
NK, to answer your original question, I buy skim milk for cereal & for drinking (I think ice cold skim milk tastes great with certain dinners, like tacos ... unless I'm having margaritas ) and 2% milk for my coffee. I hate skim milk in coffee (it turns it gray ) but 2% tastes fine in it (or maybe I'm just used to it).
one half gallon organic 2% milk. It's 2 of us and I am the only one who really drinks milk and puts it in my coffee. Hubbys has a glass of milk maybe once a month. I'll only have cream or half and half in my fridge if it's been bought for a recipe.
Half gallon of organic whole milk
Half gallon of Knudsen buttermilk
2 quarts of unsweetened almond milk
Pint of half and half
Pint of heavy cream
1 quart of coffee flavored soy milk
1 quart of plain soy milk
1 quart of strawberry kefir
Single servings of drinkable yogurts (Dannon Active, Yogudino, Calpico, etc.)
Come to think of it, half the fridge is dairy. We love it. If we add in cheese then that's about 70%.
*before the food Nazis jump on my post, I know soy and almond milk aren't dairy, thanks.
We buy two types: both non-dairy. Currently we have a half gallon of almond milk, but we're out of coconut milk. Coconut milk makes great tropical smoothies.
About 60% of the adult population are lactose intolerant (CAN'T digest milk).
30 to 50% of Americans (50 million Americans) are lactose intolerant
75% of African-American, Jewish, Mexican-American & Native American adults are lactose intolerant.
90% of Asian-Americans adults are lactose intolerant.
Only about 40% can still digest lactose after childhood.
Most people stop producing lactase (which is needed to digest the lactose in milk) by the time they are 2 to 5 years old.
While I appreciate your link and statistics this is still not "Most". Yes it is rather high but not "most" which to me means closer to 80%. Maybe you have a different interpretation.
Just realized you are not the poster who claimed "most people in USA are lactose intolerant".
