How about Dade County? Is it as bad as the reputation/stereotype?

Really? You say Broward County. I am just talking about the area referenced in the previous posts, not all of Broward. Home invasion robberies are much higher in these parts than other areas of Broward County. If we include the nicer suburbs out west then it weighs down the stats.

Home invasion robberies are not a problem anywhere in Broward County, for people who are not involved in black market drug trading or other similar occupations. The people living behind gates are more of a target for a home invasion robbery than the average person living in the areas you referenced.

Please stop spreading paranoia.

You are too funny. I just looked up the Oakland Park crime stats. Oakland Park is at least double the national average in virtually every category except murder. In Aggravated Assaults, Oakland Park is 3X the national average.

Weston by comparison was less than half the national average in every single category. Weston was a fraction of the national average in vehicle thefts and robbery.

outside of western gated communites and a very small eastern broward area in mostly high rise condos and coral ridge/rio vista type areas Broward county is a crime ridden cesspool of 3rd world refugees....home invasion type crimes are rampant and all sorts of hit and run crimes are everywhere in broward.

Haha I tend to agree with you.

Why limit your comments to Broward? You can say the same about Dade and Palm Beach counties.

Detroit makes Oakland Park look like Mayberry.

You are very funny as well, if you recall, you were supposed to be proving that home invasions were a big problem in Oakland Park, not that the crime rate is lower in Weston.

Did you even read what I wrote? All crimes in Oakland Park are 2-3 times the national average. These crimes include Burglary, Larceny, and Aggravated Assaults. There is no category for "Home Invasion Burglaries". Just Burglaries. Oakland Park is at least twice the national average. So when you say Home Invasions are not a problem in Oakland Park, you really sound moronic. The only reason I used Weston was to show that there are parts of Broward that have low crime rates.

Also, I just looked up Detroit vs. Oakland Park. On a scale from 1-10, Detroit ranks a 10 in Violent crime and Oakland Park ranks a 9. Detroit ranks an 8 in property crime and Oakland Park ranks a 7. The U.S. average for both categories is a 4 out of 10. So it appears crime is not much better in Oakland Park than Detroit.

I agree about Dade County. But not about Palm Beach County. Palm Beach County's bad areas are confined to West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, and Lake Worth. The rest of the county is actually very safe and more like a suburbia.
