Hello,

Coming in for the Big 12 Championship Football game this weekend at Cowboy Stadium. Trying to decide where to stay. 3 guys in our 30s looking for a place with some nightlife in the vicinity (more bars, not clubs...would like walking distance but okay with a short cab ride). Because I work for Marriott, I can sometimes get great deals on hotels, but this weekend in Dallas/Fort Worth things are busy. It looks like my 2 best options would be the Dallas Marriott City Center (was a Westin until recently) or the Courtyard by Marriott Fort Worth West at Cityview (Near Hulen Mall). The Courtyard seems a little removed from most of the action but it says there are over 100 restaurants within one mile of the hotel and claims there is nightlife in the area. Any suggestions or information on either of these two areas? Thanks!

The Marriott at Cityview will be BORING. Sure, there is a little nightlife over there, but it's really just the mall, movie theater and some family-type restaurants. There's a Keg....I can't really think of anyplace else. It's very near where I work, so my crowd is often trying to think of a good happy hour place near work and we just can't.

I highly recommend the Marriot near 7th St. if you're looking for night life. Can you get in there?

ETA: On second thought, there is a sports bar whose name escapes me and a good Mexican restaurant, Rio Mambo, over there in the Cityview "Academy" shopping center. That might work.

I would reccommend either Marriott Blackstone Fort Worth Hotels | Courtyard Downtown Fort Worth Hotel

or The Renaissance Worthington
Downtown Fort Worth Hotels: Fort Worth, Texas Hotel - Ft. Worth, TX Luxury Hotel

Both are Marriott properties and both are in Sundance Square... Lots of bars and restaurants and only 12 miles from Cowboys Stadium. May even be a shuttle from downtown FW.
