I needed some help or advice on what I should do. My younger sister who will be a sophmore this year just moved in with me. In my neighborhood, in south fort worth, the main street in subdivision is Burleson ISD and then our culdesac in the same neighborhood in Everman ISD. We have a Fort Worth address though. I do not want her going to Everman, some people in my neighborhood have told us to not send her there. How would I go about getting her in to another school? Is there anything I can do?

Thank You in advance.

Unfortunately, Burleson ISD does not allow Interdistrict transfers. The only way to attend Burleson would be if she enrolled in ROTC. You can find the policy on Burleson ISD's website. The website is Burleson Independent School District | Burleson Independent School District
On the left hand side click on "Policy Manual" under other links, then click on students, and then click on FDA(LOCAL), this is the policy on Interdistrict Transfers.

I agree with you keep her out of Everman. My sister went there yrs ago and it was getting bad then. I was a sub there in college...no way would my kid go there.

See if you can find a friend or relative in Burleson to let you use their address.

Many times school districts will say they do not allow out of district students, however I have learned that may not always be so. Go up to the Burleson ISD and talk to the ladies that work there. I found them to be really nice the one time I had to go in for school district info on a property we were looking at. The districts that I know of that say no but accept a few charge $1000 a school year per student.
