A section of yellowing grass in my front yard. There is sufficient water, and it's not mites. Perhaps some type of fungus? Whatever it is, it's terribly unsightly!

Sand burrs starting to pop up - just green right now, no burrs yet. Will have to go out there and dig them up. Thank goodness the ground is soft.

My sister was complaining about ground ivy today. I told her she can't win, and to just enjoy it in the early spring when it blooms.

Look at Chickweed's magnificent herbal properties. If you start harvesting and using it, trust me... you will find out quite quickly that it doesn't grow as well as you WANT it to! LOL Seriously, I had "a problem" with chickweed. Once I realized that this was a plant I definitely wanted on the property, it became scarce.

Last year my lawn looked awesome, this past winter really took a toll on it, awful. Our Spring has been so wet can't really do much to help it.

On Saturday I went out and began attacking it. Cleared out one section and started on another. I'm determined to be rid of it. I have a tree/lawn service coming in to clear out some small trees next week and have asked them to consider assist with removing the ivy as well since one of the trees they are removing is dead center in the middle of the ivy. Once it's gone I'm laying down a triple layer of cardboard over the area, followed by a good 5-6" of wood chips. I will NOT let it win. *lol*
