Plant-wise.. it's a never ending battle trying to get rid of a flowering quince in a raised garden between the house and driveway. Whoever planted it ought to be shot at dawn. The roots have cracked the garden walls, undermined the patio and infiltrated and plugged the drainage system for the raised garden.
Well, I have about 80% of all the unwanted plants mentioned How lucky can I get?
I have another one that keeps on giving: Virginia Creeper!
Oh, yes! The lady who originally owned our house loved it and planted it all along the fence surrounding the yard. It's unbelievably resilient. We yank tons of it out every year, only to see it come back within a few weeks, looking better than ever. If it was well behaved, I'd like it, too, but it becomes invasive and destructive.

Someone PLANTED virginia creeper????? It's a weed! And a horribly invasive one at that. It will take over large trees. No one need ever plant the stuff....it's EVERYWHERE. Seriously...I cannot imagine anyone planting this stuff.
Aww, I already have it so I'll give it a try anyway. I stumbled upon it because I found it is the only herbicide on the market that will selectively kill nimbleweed.
By all means give it a go. I'd love to hear that it worked for you. Drop me a line and let me know the results, okay?

Yep. Here in Colorado, people sometimes plant it along fences, including the original owner of my house, whose name, by the way, was Virginia. We affectionately call our vine "Virginia's Creeper." We recently found a sprout of it coming up in a bed nearly thirty feet from an established vine. Have I mentioned that she also planted English Ivy along a retaining wall?
