I found the social group, and I've requested to join.
Most of my research is in the mid-west area, and points east. Mostly in Iowa and Nebraska though.
Go back to the forum list. Go to the very bottom of the page. You'll see Social Groups underlined. Click on it. Look for Genealgoy Group. If you do not see it look for the 'Search Groups' box. Enter Genealoy Group. Linux is the moderator of the group. Sign up. It's that's easy.

I would like some input on the best ways to organize all of the paperwork. I have deeds, birth/death and marriage certificates, military paperwork, school transcripts, etc...I would like to know how all of you keep it together...by family, person, by type of documents...
There are a few great websites that explain it but I would like to hear from others what seems to work best!
I've been doing family genealogy for 5 years and love it! Count me in!
Regarding organizing, I use a computer program (Legacy) and scan the documents into my computer, corresponding with the person(s). My organization is by family. After I scan the documents I file the originals in a file cabinet, by subject (marriage/military/birth/death) by name.
Has anyone found a "Famous" ancestor??? One that you are really sure about...
