It's been almost 20 years, but after the Rodney King incident, it was said that the LAPD treats everyone like a king.

Fort Myers, FL

I had a one time experience with them that's worst than any experience I've ever had with police. It's sickening really.

The LA police department used to be horrible and the city had to suffer the consequences as a result. The beating of a black man, Rodney King, resulted in one of the worse riots in any American city. That was many years ago but the LAPD still have some problems like when they went berserk during a May Day demonstration and charged into a crowd of people in a downtown park; all of it was caught on film and resulted in a huge & costly settlement against the city. But when Chief Bratton was hired from the New York police department he improved the LAPD dramatically. Too bad Bratton retired but his successor seems to be as wise as Bratton was and now the police department is viewed in a much more positive light. Now Los Angeles is considered one of the safest cities for its size.

New Orleans police. Many corrupt murderers and drug dealers on their force.

I'm nominating Columbus, OH. They don't seem to care as much about actual crime as they do college-aged girls or underage drinkers. Plus they wear stupid hats!
