The US state with the highest percentage of its population residing in just one county is Nevada. About 73% of Nevadans live in Clark County (Las Vegas). Close behind is Hawaii, where about 70% of residents live in Honolulu County (Oahu).

I think I get it: The OP means that China is geographically large. Germany is closer to extreme western China than extreme western China is to extreme eastern China.

Grammatically or syntactically wrong.

Should be "the western most point of China is closer to Germany than TO the eastern most point." To compare prepositional objects, you need to repeat the preposition. Otheerwise, a comparison of subjects is implied.

There are no US counties, Louisiana parishes, Alaskan census areas, or US independent cities whose names begin with the letter X.

As the crow flies, Chicago is ~50 miles closer to Boston than it is to Denver. But is roughly the mid-point between Boston and Denver.

I would believe Denver being closer to Chicago than to LA though. Denver truly is on the edge of the Great Plains, and just a few dozen miles from true Midwestern states.

The highway system in the state of Idaho is hampered by mountainous terrain. There is no north-south interstate. The best route between Montpelier, ID and Bonners Ferry, ID is primarily through Montana. The trip takes approximately 10 hours to complete.
