Yet back in the Hippy error Looooong ago? It was quite the opposite. They were the generation that rebelled to the point. Working and higher education was for someone else? Of they failed to use it after it kept them out of Vietnam? Of course the got older and conformed more to be part of society in a good way.
It was not only "hippies" who were conscienstious objectors" - there were many who opposed the war.
58,000 names of men and women are on that Memorial. Here is something that should be read
especially who was able to avoid being sent to the war zone (which also included Cambodia).

I fully respect their protesting the Vietnam war. Honestly... I merely used them in comparison to the negative comments about Yuppies and Hipsters.. Kind of..... Hippies and Yuppies/Hipsters are opposites? In one totally rejected establishment and institutions in rebellion? The other embraces it and becomes part of it and totally are about attaining wealth? Or at least enjoying all excesses they can.

I understand, all's well.
I just saw a question on a forum asking about which restaurants and bars allow dogs. Remember
the brouhaha about the crying baby at a very high end restaurant, who started this trend of wanting
to bring their pets inside a restaurant (excluding service dogs)? I can think of many reasons
why this is a bad idea (the risks and health code violations).
Yuppies and Bloomberg killed my NYC. Bring back the dirt and low rent and sense of mystery. Yuppies/hipster morons are ruining Brooklyn, once a city of its own, at an alarming speed.
Gentrification is good up to a point. The only ones who seem to be able to afford NYC now are the extraordinarily wealthy.
San Francisco, but EVERY city is negatively impacted by the hollow busyness, clueless arrogance, cornball presence, app and tech obsession of this group.
Not necessarily "cities", but any rural area anywhere that is infested by city transplants with stuck up attitudes - the ones who want to change the unique local culture and whine about the lack of paved roads, streetlights, Starbucks, vegan restaurants, and diversity.

They always live in those big, shoddy tract homes too.

Yuppies ruin everything.
