Aside from the fact that it borders Canada, I’m not really seeing it. Eastern WA and the rural parts of Western WA have a distinctly American redneck/conservative vibe to me, and the way the Seattle metro area sprawls doesn’t feel very typically Canadian.

Certainly a strong connection to the Maritimes, the rocky coasts, lighthouses, fishing villages all very similar to Nova Scotia. I think Vermont has more of a kinship to Quebec (dairy farms, maple syrup, similar landscapes). I mean is there really a wrong answer for any state that borders Canada? Montana is worlds away from Quebec or the Maritimes, but I'm sure its very similar to Alberta with both having the Rocky Mountains, prairies, energy industries, etc.
