The Hole, Brooklyn is so interesting to me. I realize this may sounds crazy, but in a strange way those few streets almost remind me of the inner city of Fairbanks, Alaska.

I don't think most people associate San Diego with farming, but San Diego County has more farms than any other county in the country. The city doesn't have too many left, but
Nicknamed Mayberry, it has a small town USA vibe and it tucked right under LAX and boarders the ocean. Its like a quaint small town hidden inside of a large metropolis
South Shore, Chicago (south side) is known for being violent and dangerous. However, there is a section of the neighborhood with million dollar mansions.

Wow, that's pretty interesting, esp to someone who thinks he really knows Chicago. But once again, it's truly a city of surprises. This neighborhood is beautiful; straight-up suburban (and is directly on the Metra-Electric commuter rail line -- the South Chicago streetcar version of it).... Just a mile or so to the east/south east are some pretty rough South Chicago slums.
Some spots of Chicago have areas with many row-homes, which tends not to be typical "Chicago" housing architecture (that is primarily the detached two flats and bungalows). These rowhome areas, while scarce, can be found on the inner south, west, and north sides.
Row houses are definitely not typical in Chicago, but they do pop up around old/core areas of town... including these upscale, Manhattan-types in the near North:
This just goes to show you the extremely high value humans put on most property near a large body of water, even in the otherwise toughest of towns. Large urban parks, hilltops (with great views), and in-city golf courses also tend to raise property quality and value.
