I found 11 listings under $325k in San Francisco, most of them studios and under 500 square feet. I found a fire sale, 2 bed/2 baths for $150,000. Then I read it was a fractional sale for 1/10th of a condo. Oy vey.
I really like the one in Elmwood Village. The lot is smaller than I'd like, but the character inside and out is incredible. I've always had a soft spot of Buffalo. Been there quite a few times. I've met a lot of people who have moved from Buffalo to here (Charlotte) and they're incredibly nice.
It gets you 3000 sqft, more or less, sometimes on an acre or so.
In town, maybe it comes with a view, and certainly in a nicer neighborhood.
150k gets you into the same neighborhood in a smaller house (by modern standards) that I would consider more sensible. 300k would almost be kind of lavish around here.
