Yeah Atlanta and many parts of Florida do not seem to be the friendliest places towards Asians based on news reports and reputation but I do not have lived experience. Orlando might be pretty welcoming.
I think your best bet are wide swaths of LA metro, particularly places like Arcadia or Temple City, or the SF Bay Area especially San Jose. Secondary major hubs would be Seattle (Bellevue in particular) and parts of Boston, NY, and maybe Houston. Possibly a large contingent in Las Vegas but that might be more the tourists than the locals.
Honolulu being racist might be in reference to the idea that Hawaiians aren't necessarily the most welcoming to people who aren't actually from there on a long term basis? Super friendly to tourists and visitors though of all races.
I hope no one is judging if a city of 6 million is “racist” or safe based on the actions of one individual in the “news”
I’m curious where exactly would be the best part of Atlanta. I hear it’s Alpharetta and John’s Creek, but then there’s Buckhead which I know is also nice…

Having lived in many cities in the USA, and a few overseas. Discrimination has always been something that my family has dealt with. What are some of the best cities for white/asian families?
Automatic disqualifier: Honolulu, it was the most racist place I’ve ever lived or even spent a great deal of time in.
What alternate America are you living in? My wife is Asian, and my daughter is mixed and we have never once experienced discrimination anywhere in the United States.

How nice for you, but are you saying those hate crime reports are all made up?
“Best” would depend on other things: job location, desired type of house/neighborhood, etc.
Other Metro Atlanta Areas with similar attributes:
Peachtree City
Milton
West Cobb
South Cherokee
East Cherokee
Union Grove
Ola
South Fayetteville
Mill Creek/Northern Gwinnett
Northgate Area
