Since there is a thread for "most generic cities in America," thought I'd start this one.

I did a search and couldn't find a thread with this exact content, but if so, maybe the moderators can merge it with an existing one.

Anyway, here's my list of top 25 "most original large cities over 100k," based on my experiences, in America:

25 Austin, TX
24 Philadelphia, PA
23 Madison, WI
22 Albuquerque, NM
21 Portland, OR

20 Nashville, TN
19 Savannah, GA
18 Charleston, SC
17 Memphis, TN
16 Pittsburgh, PA

15 St Louis, MO
14 San Antonio, TX
13 Las Vegas, NV
12 Santa Barbara, CA
11 San Diego, CA

10 Honolulu, HI
9 Seattle, WA
8 Miami, FL
7 Boston, MA
6 Chicago, IL

5 Los Angeles, CA
4 New Orleans, LA
3 Washington, DC
2 San Francisco, CA
1 NYC, NY

I like LA, but it largely felt like one big collection of shopping malls when I was there. I couldn’t rank it well for originality. To reiterate though, it is a great city just not the most original.

Yeah, Vegas is certainly original/ one-of-a-kind and deserves a higher ranking.

Pretty decent list overall.

The only glaring thing that stands out to me is Philadelphia. She is far more original then most of the cities on the list and should be moved at least to where San Diego or Santa Barbara are.

I would replace Albuquerque with Santa Fe.
Miami should be higher than Chicago.
LA should be dropped a lot lower. Santa Barbara too.
Las Vegas should be lower.
Memphis should be ahead of San Antonio.
Honolulu should be way bigger than Seattle.

Good catch!

I was thinking Albuquerque was a little off for some reason - and honestly I had a vision of Bugs Bunny in my head lol. But maybe the OP was thinking of Santa Fe as well.
