Even the sidewalk width in downtown DC is wider than all those cities. The urban design standards are very uniform and planned in DC while Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Boston clearly use a completely different approach to designing their streets and sidewalks. The height of buildings and the interaction with the street is very unique to DC compared to Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Boston.

Someone could clearly mistake downtown Boston, Center City Philadelphia, and downtown Baltimore for each other. Skyscrapers look the same everywhere. DC has a very unique look with every building being the exact same height giving it a very unique look.

Nobody would mistake the Washington Monument for the Bunker Hill Monument.

This could clearly be Baltimore

This could clearly be Philadelphia

Can you find streets like these in DC?
A lott of Bosotn looks like DC- Seaport and Fenway look like NoMa and the Wharf/ SW.

Regardless off if theyd mistake it is a copy of the BH monument.

There so many rowhomes in both cities that there are streets that are near carbon copies despite a general difference in style (DC being wider and more colorful). Philadelphia is the same with Wickahisson Park filling in for Rock Creek Park. Leakin Park/Gwynn Falls Trails could also stand in for Rock Creek.

More Baltimore vibes but in DC

NW DC vibes but in Boston

Philly
DC similarity

Those houses in Baltimore don't even have grass in front of them.

Show me a street in Baltimore that looks like the link you posted at the bottom for DC. I mean, at the very least, they should be painted the same color and be the same height.

As for parkways with trees, I could show you streets in any city with forests around them. That NW DC link could be the suburbs too.

The vernacular of DC is pretty similar to the rest of the mid Atlantic (Philly, Baltimore, Richmond, Etc). It’s on a neat grid. And nobody is from there and it’s on the border between north and south so has a very region-less overarching culture
Are you Black? Only someone who isn't Black would say nobody is from DC living in DC.

I don’t think people would say Boston looks fundamentally different than Manchester because Manchester’s triple Deckers have pitched roofs while Boston has flat ones even though that’s a much bigger difference than 2 feet of setback

Yes I believe DC was invented in 1998 and nobody lived there before then and it was not comparative statement compared to most other cities people tend to call unique.

https://www.dcpolicycenter.org/publi...orn-residents/

Less than 30% of DC adults are born in DC. its definitely no one but yea. It's pretty damn transient and takes influences from a lot of places due to its geographic location and role as the nation's capital.

about 24% (but dropping) of DC are black people born in DC, certainly not no one.

Data is from 2017

You think those streets look like DC? What street in DC would you mistake for Baltimore if someone showed you?
