In Upstate NY we called them cellars, too. And we didn't say "I left my boots down in the cellar", we'd say "I left my boots down cellar."
I grew up in NJ saying "cellar" in a smalltown where people were moving from the city. I quickly learned that other people said basement. Just like water came from a tap but other people said "faucet".
Most Okies I know, including myself, say "Oringe" with the stress on the "Or" and the J sound of the "ge" at the end of the word...It all just goes together.
For Oklahomans, said with a southwestern twang to boot.
Some people also say "far-est." This should be illegal.
