Agree it looks like a library. The first time I saw Boston city hall in pictures, I immediately thought of the library of Chinese University of Hong Kong.
I agree, Boston City Hall looks like a concrete college (public) library. Not sure if it was the time it was built --- or maybe because Boston has so many old buildings they wanted to try something different! It is certainly not the worst city hall but it does not belong in Boston, lol.
I would say NYC is the best city hall. However I cannot deny that Philly's city hall is a good one as well
New York City Hall is the oldest major city hall still in use (explains why it is kind of small) and probably the most historic, being built on the old New York Common and all. But no city hall IMHO can hold a candle to Philadelphia. See the picture looking down Ben Franklin Pkwy to the City Hall? Looks like something straight from Paris --- too bad more cities in America did not do something similar.
It looks like it could be any county courthouse in the U.S.
For what is arguably the capital of the world, NYC's city hall is very, very underwhelming regardless of its history.
Yup you are right, even the Town Hall here in Babylon is bigger. Still not bad for a building finished about 200 years ago. Obvisously the city does not fit all its workers in the building, lol. Alot of them are in the Civic Center --- especially the Municipal Building. The City Hall pretty much houses Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his staff. He sits behind the desk George Washington used when he was President of the United States!
