Do you understand how things like this work in our federal government?

I'm a person and I have rights not because of my heartbeat or my DNA, but because I'm sentient and self-aware and have complex emotions and memories and personality and etc etc. All this 'fetal heartbeat' stuff is is about religious people who think we have souls. That's fine for a personal belief and your own choices, but leave the rest of us alone. Party of 'small government'- leave the dang women of Georgia alone! Everyone can make their own choices.

So much more I could say but I don't even know where to start. I like Atlanta sometimes, but it's just, it just never ends with these social conservative government people.

Believe it or not this has always been my love hate with Atlanta and Georgia, these Good ol boy laws and politics,, don't say I haven't said it time and time again.. I remember catching so much heat on here for pointing out Georgia was not that progressive as many make it seem. Remember pointing out even how I didn't see Georgia that much more progressive than TN and I caught it,, smh. Truth is we are in the south and I don't think we are safe with these laws whether we are in Georgia, Tenn, North Carolina, etc. The sad part is it's the progressive cities like Atlanta's, Nashville's ,Charlotte's, etc. left to deal with the consequences... Point blank period

All this fuss over a bill that will be promptly overturned if signed into law.

This 'law' isn't worth the paper it is written on. Nothing is going to happen here because this unconstitutional law will never go into effect.

I agree. It will not stand. Georgia Conservatives are firing a shot across the Supreme Court's bow.

All depends on one man upholding Roe, Chief Justice Roberts- the last sorta moderate left on the court- who was appointed by GW Bush and who has upheld abortion restrictions in the past. So, I mean, to say "nothing is gonna happen". It's all part of a strategy by the theocrats, including 2 Trump nominees to the Supreme Court, which now leans conservative. It's not nothing.

And regardless, whether they end up struck down or not, these laws hurt the state's image and reputation. We should be pro-business.
