Are you suggesting that we should boost the Mexican economy?
We can't even improve our own infrastructure.

You're talking about nation building.

The US sucks at nation building.

It's damn cheaper doing what we can to keep them where they are, and out of our backyard. No one even talks about why they come over here in the first place. If you work on solving what created the whole mess to begin this, the rest goes away.

Security and the wall do nothing to counter companies continuing to truck in (smuggle in) workers to the US. All that money towards security and wall gets wasted, as people just side-step and circumvent the "measures".

Again, go to the root of the problem if you really want to solve it. These problems, will never go away with any lesser tactic, and the costs to US taxpayers will only increase.

Force compliance by all businesses, large and small to some E-Verify type of hiring requirement and your problem goes away overnight. Until then Americans themselves, seeking cheaper labour they can advantage, will find ways to get Mexicans over/around/under the wall.

Were all employers of these people heavily fined and lose their business licenses you would not have needed any "wall".

Mexico is not going to pay for the wall and once again the American taxpayer will fund something that would not have been necessary had the government done it's due diligence by enacting/enforcing laws to prevent their hiring in the first place.

It's not just the numbers coming over and taking jobs. It's what they bring when they enter. A lot of diseases that were eradicated from the US are now back. And if you think people coming over the border get a physical and treatment before entering, think again.

The returning diseases are;
1. Tuberculosis
2. Measles
3. Whooping Cough
4. Mumps
5. Scarlet Fever
6. Bubonic Plague

A number of other diseases, some of which are prevalent among foreign born residents of the United States and foreign visitors, also present a current problem, to varying degrees, including zika, flesh eating parasites—cutaneous leishmaniasis, ebola, leprosy, intestinal parasites, HIV, scabies, and diptheria.

Another big problem is the sex trade, human trafficking, not just the drug trade that comes over the border.

This part of the argument has merit.

Do we have an immigration crisis? This is a country of immigrants, built by immigrants, for immigrants. Always has been. Its just that some immigrants are viewed more favorably than others. Perhaps we have a context bias.

I don't suppose the home grown, homeopathic, inoculations are harmful set have anything to do with the resurgence of these diseases previously held at bay do they?

I have long advocated that the military be armed, and placed on the southern border, with orders to shoot to kill.
I also have stated in the past, that billboards be placed every 300 yards, stating in big, bold words, in Spanish, "IF YOU ENTER THE UNITED STATES ILLEGALLY, YOU WILL BE SHOT, AND GO HOME IN A BODY BAG, NO EXCEPTIONS".

Bob.

Canada should annex the US and Mexico. Become the North American empire. Crush enemies like sparrow's egg between manly thighs.

So does that work for Americans, too.

When an American goes to Thailand and overstays his visa, and is caught doing it, instead of facing a small fine and possible deportation, should the Thai officials just shoot him dead and send him home in a body bag?
