I feel like that there could not be, the lesser of 2 evils this fall. I was willing to leave my primary presidential ballot, blank as well. What have we come too, as a nation, when the choices we have makes one sick?
Voting is an exercise of political liberty, acquired when one consents to be a citizen. Since citizenship is voluntary, and triggers an imposition of mandatory civic duties, it is truly a waste to not vote.
However, if one had not consented to be a citizen, and remained in the republican form of government, one cannot participate in the democratic form, and thus not voting is a non-issue.

In America, however, the case is widely different. Our government is founded upon compact. Sovereignty was, and is, in the people.

Sovereigns do not vote, nor run for public office (as public servants).
Every vote for a candidate unworthy of office is a vote confirming to the party nominating that candidate that they have placed the correct person on the ballot. The lesser of two evils stratagem sends the wrong message and perpetuates the manipulation of the American people by the parties for their own gain.
What you should do, then, is vote for the lesser of two evils. You don't vote, you don't have the right to complain.
Ok, sounds good to me I think I'll vote for the person who wants to go start wars with other countries just for the hell of it. Or wait should I vote for the person who wants to get rid of the middle class so rich people can have more?
I didn't realize that not voting resulted in a loss of freedom of speech.
Perhaps you mean that people won't take you very seriously.
I had that line thrown at me so many times when I was a younger adult that I let it shame me into registering. And, for me, it forced me to pay more attention to everything. Most of the time my vote results have not gone my way (even voted Libertarian once) but I still feel it's my responsibility. I think to most people, a non-voter "goes with the flow" and, thus, should not complain.
Or just vote none of the above and just vote Congressionally and locally.
This is true, although sometimes these can be the most frustrating of all, when you don't agree with your local politics or how your state likes to blow money, and you wish that your opposing vote had more clout.
