This is my last comment on this, but it is clear to me the United States has become a nation where a good majority of it's citizens are lazy dependent cowards. They are willing to give more and more of their rights away in exchange for the scraps tossed to them by the politicians who are taking the lion's share for themselves. People who want to remove the 2nd Amendment are either fools who believe the government will protect them in dire times, or people so afraid to be responsible for themselves they will cede power to the politicians out of fear. Being armed with small caliber weaponry will no doubt leave citizens under equipped to fight a huge oppressive government. But, it will still be much better than being disarmed.

I am old, and likely wont be here for the day this nation falls. But, it will fall. The USA is already so far in debt it can not possibly get out. We are spending more and more everyday that is simply created digitally. Our currency is no longer secured with an asset like gold. It is simply paper with a waning value based on faith. This spending is diluting the value of our dollar more and more. This latest relief spending will dilute the value of our dollar massively before all the spending stops. When the US dollar stops being the world reserve currency, the collapse of our economy will happen almost overnight.

If I am alive then, I sure hope I am well armed. Because when the nation falls, our own government will be the one that turns on us, trying to implement a socialist style regime under the guise of saving the nation. They have seen in this pandemic how scared and desperate fools will just give away their freedom in exchange for promises of protection and small token payment handouts. The politicians will never forget how easily and instantly we handed over our rights.
No chance we outlast the Roman Empire. And not true that we've given up. We're actively trying to make sure we don't get another GOP administration (Trump was so bad, he counts double). Then perhaps we can fix all the debt they've been accruing, and get money into the hands of Americans rather than corporations.

And you keep going on how having ANY firearm is better than nothing. Again, vs. looters, stray cops, that is better than nothing. But if the government REALLY wants to take you down, that's not going to help, and you not acknowledging that seems to cling to the delusion that it was meant to ward off that sort of government oppression.

I don't like that remark either. Both are wrong. Without mutual respect, we as a society and democracy will fail.

You mean sorry you quoted your sorry made up post. Anyone who is honest fully understands an overwhelming majority of the middle class got tax cuts.

I don't think so. That post is meant as is... that the stimulus benefits corporations more, and that Trump's tax cuts years back went mostly to corporations. Middle class got screwed.

I suppose you could call that close but Trump is far more with it than Biden is. Biden's got some kind of mental deterioration going on.

Maybe he pushed himself too hard on the campaign trail, I don't know. He's always been a bit of a flake, though.

Remember, this is like the 3rd or 4th time he's trying for the Presidency; the other times, he went down in flames.

Biden is probably the worst candidate the Democrats have come up with in decades. Maybe worse than Hillary Clinton (but they're neck-and-neck, really).

Jimmy Carter was a generally incompetent President but he was very electable. Even Walter Mondale was smarter and more capable, and Reagan crushed him in the biggest landslide of the century.
I never said I like Biden, but Trump is beyond clueless! He doesn't check his facts before opening is mouth and saying something stupid!

Heaven help us all if Trump wins again!! I don't think he'll win. He screwed up big thinking this virus was a hoax and delaying action. All he cares about is big corporations. He doesn't relate to the middle class and surely doesn't care about them. He only wants to re-open the States to boost the economy so he can toot his own horn. He just said he hopes to start rally's soon! Ridiculous! I just hope there isn't a second surge due to his stupidity! It's quite sad!

At any rate, I wouldn't be shocked if my current Red State turns blue in November! People don't trust Trump here anymore.

Aw, relax, blis.

Moondoggie's hate-filled screed didn't bother you, but my mild response did.

You give yourself away.

I am someone who was conservative when I was younger, and have become more liberal the older I get (formally switching from the republican to no party affiliation to the democratic party in the process). I see far more conservatives mocking democrats than the other way around.

Conservatives claim they want small government, independence, etc. but in practicality that's just not what republicans stand for. It's becoming more and more hateful/unhelpful as a party, while advocating for as big of government as the democratic party (this is more republican vs democrat, than the idealistic conservative vs liberal). It's just hard to stomach the republican party any more.

Our choices for voting aren't conservative vs liberal today, they are republican or democrat, and it's just hard to stomach voting for the republican party today, even if a person has conservative views.

Heaven help us if Trump doesn't win! I think he'll win. He never thought the virus was a hoax. There are no "red" states that are leaning toward Biden - you've gotta be KIDDING!!!

You are grossly misinformed; I suggest you stop abusing your brain with Washington Post and CNN and read the facts.

Quite a trick.

We've also had cases of people vouching for citizenship, up to seven people per voter, which is certainly a questionable practice. We've also had cases of felons voting. In November of 2019 a man was charged with assisting thirteen non-citizens to vote.

I see there are a number of counties nationwide which have been put on notice in practice the of questionable voting practices. It would be interesting to research how many of them are urban.

A number of them, including MN, are refusing to cooperate. Why would they want to do that and cast doubt on the honesty of the results?
What would be interesting is for YOU to research each of the alleged "voter fraud" examples you cite above, to either prove (unlikely) or disprove (more likely) their authenticity. Otherwise, "one I remember which seems to have disappeared from my search engine" is meaningless hearsay not to be taken seriously by anyone.

Claims of widespread voter fraud (always perpetrated by Democrats against Republicans) have been debunked time and time again. Evidence supporting most of these claims simply does not exist, while evidence to the contrary is overwhelming. For examples, just consider the endless bogus claims of voter fraud made by President Trump. Facts be damned!
