Of course not. What if some terrorist sends his daughter to third grade with a poisoned cake? When unrestrained and morbid fear stalks the land, whipped by the omnipotent media, you can't be too careful.

They'll let them bring healthy snacks like fruit cups or a veggie platter, yet Domino's is fine. Don't even get me started on the rest of the slop they serve for lunch during the week. Luckily we get a monthly menu, so we can pack her lunch from home half the week or more.

What's funny is that my daughter's school will allow Domino's pizza to be served but they won't allow kids to bring in a cake for their birthday or any other sweet snacks to celebrate with.
My children are allowed to bring treats so long as the are store bought and wrapped in cellophane. (elementry school) Oh and at my daughters high school we(PTA) had the soda machines replaced with juice machines, and yes there are still a few soda choices-pepsi & coke, along with water...so it is possible to have some sort of change. But then again I trust my kids to eat and drink the right things.

I complained to my son's school that they offered chocolate milk with lunch, which was chosen by about half of them. I was told that many kids would drink no milk at all if they were not given the chocolate option.

Then, when my son was in second grade, I was a room "mother", accompanying kids on outings and projects. We went to visit the local hospital, and the staff provided cookies and milk for all the kids. Only white milk. Every kid drank every drop. Nobody asked for chocolate.

If chocolate is offered, of course, they will choose chocolate. If you still have young ones in elementry petition other parents to have it removed.

Nobody cares. America is what it is, and becoming what it will be, because nobody cares. The warm and fat never care. Caring is what the cold and hungry do, and there aren't enough of them. Yet.

This is a free country. People can eat whatever they want. The fact that McDonalds is unhealthy isn't exactly a secret, and if people want to ignore that fact and eat it anyway, that's their choice. I don't see why people would want to interfere in lives of others? What do you care if someone else eats McDonalds?

As for kids, a Happy Meal actually isn't that bad. Choose milk instead of soda, choose those apple dippers instead of fries, and the meal is actually fairly decent (not great, but not horrible either).

I've lost 15 lbs while eating fast food a couple times a week. You can look up the nutritional info online if you are looking to lose weight. It's not the fast food that is the problem. It's the portion size and frequency. If you order a big mac, large fries and large coke every day you're going to get fat. Use common sense. Eat a little fast food and excercise. Stupidity isn't an valid excuse. Leave the poor clown alone.

Also on the note of kids, I don't think foods themselves are the big cause of childhood obesity. I think it's almost entirely caused by portion sizes and lack of exercise.

When I was in elementary school, we had chocolate milk, we ate chips and cookies as snacks, we ate the kind of junky cafeteria food, we had McDonalds on occasion, etc. But out of my entire grade level (which was probably about 80 kids or so), I can only remember 2 or 3 of them being seriously overweight. Almost all of my classmates were perfect size. It was because we were constantly active and playing outside, and our junky snacks were given to us in acceptable portion sizes.

Can't blame the food companies for the fact that most kids today are couch potatoes who pig out. That one's on the parents.

then don't go there. but don't tell the rest of us what to do and certainly don't blame a clown. what next? unbelievable. like I said in another link. I will NOT let other people who think THEY know what is best for me, make my decisions.

why not let parents be parents over their OWN kids.
