The US constitution describes both the rights and the responsibilities of Americans, and in the Preamble, it states quite clearly, "promote the general welfare". It's the obligation of all of us to see to it that that is done. If something is being done that is manifestly harmful to the general welfare, you at least have a duty to speak out against it and discourage it.

What the hell does that have to do with this topic. Is somebody talking about the government using tax money to provide Big Macs to the personally irresponsible? I must have missed that post.

Next, we're going to have the gun people piling on, saying people have a right to carry a gun into McDonalds Playland, to defend themselves.

I have two stepdaughters who are recreational users of pot, and they are nutrition extremists. They never eat junk food, they never eat convenience food. They cook all their meals from scratch, organic. Even when they were teenagers.

It's not about just what their eating as kids. When I was a kid, I decided at 13 to smoke. Not because my mom bought them for me or because there was some cigarette peddler on the schoolyard. I smoked because it seemed cool according to all my friends and ALL of the advertisements around me! Guess what, it turned out that cigarette companies were advertising in ways that would appeal to kids.
What makes fast food so different? Do you think that if I don't take my kids to Chick-Fil-A now that they will never go? That's highly likely. This is about what draws kids in, what hooks them on the idea and there are fast food restaurants that most certainly target kids in their advertisements.

Well they must be the exception. All the potheads I have known always get the munchies and it isn't for something organic they can whip up in a blender! It's more like hot cheetos and chocolate milk!

How do you know YOUR potheads aren't the exception?

Did you know there is a difference between potheads and casual users? Or do you "guarantee" that all casual users behave like your pothead friends? What other stereotypes do you guarantee?

I also tried smoking cigarettes at 12 but didn't like them...the smell on my hands, hair, etc...that habit died quickly.
Companies have the right to advertise...McDonalds is small fish compared to a cigarette company. But the point is, people can enjoy McDonalds in moderation, like anything else. If they abuse it its on them. It's not that hard to eat in moderation and get some exercise.

People eat fast food because it is cheap food and convenient for people that are in a hurry or too lazy to make some food. Not because of a clown.
