Power plants are more efficient with their fuel use than cars are. I guess I could go through and link up references, but not much time to do right now. A natural gas or coal plant supplying electric for one million cars will be much less pollutant and achieve its thermal efficiency better than one million individual gasoline powered cars.

Well, avoiding carbs and running on a treadmill are good for you too.

Trying to justify your mean-spirited thievery doesn't fly. You stole someone's property and have not expressed any remorse or shame about it, only a gleeful attempt at justification because you didn't like what that person was doing. How very sad.

While that is true in stock form, it is easily rectified with a few adders and you still only have a fraction of the cost! Plus...when you run a Tesla all out, the charge drops off very rapidly!

There are a lot of ways to cheat emission. Just look at VW as an example.

We once had some stations in some of the buildings but eventually had them removed for the exact wording of this topic. The problem we saw with certain EV users is they saw these as reserved parking spots for their EV, not as an Occupy While Using! Additionally, we felt the abuse by certain users (an identifiable type of owner) were becoming excessive on the property managers and staff over the stations.

There are enough public stations in the area so EV owners can go there just like regular drivers have to use gas stations. It there is a dispute over the use, lets these strangers duke it out on the street. In our garage, it would be neighbor against neighbor, which is never pleasant. It only takes a few to ruin it for the many.
yes that is the difficult. I can imagine the difficulty within the shared-dwelling. But penalty for breaking the law whatever it is hsould be high and severe enough that it discourage. Otherwise it always happen.

Nope, In standing start acceleration an electric will win every time. 2.3 seconds vs about 4 seconds.

The emissions standards for car are much more lax.

true but most modern vehicles do not even have exhaust odor they are so clean. If you ask me they should ban mods that do things like remove the catalytic converter or other pollution control devices.

It's far more economical to buy a nice Camry or Accord V6 and still muster up 30+ mpg on the highway with plenty of power than to spend big bucks on an electric, but most people who buy really expensive high option vehicles are losing their butts on depreciation.. they do it because they have the money to spare.

I'd rather have a prius and be a cheapskate and have a 500 mile range on my vehicle before needing a refuel. Some people pay for those 2.3 seconds of fast acceleration though. More power to em.

Modern 4 cylinder engines are as powerful as some of the muscle cars from the early 80's... and today's V6's blow them away.
