I also just noticed that the whole loop is actually 39 miles, not 49.
Yeah, I saw that yesterday in various media reports. For some reason I thought it was in the 44 mile range. But when I thought about it, the last mile marker ( or maybe it was the last exit) I can remember seeing is 21 right after the 785/70 interchange. I knew the bottom half was a shorter distance.
I wonder how long it will take for them to change the big green sign on 40 west, not sure if they will add a a control city on the 840 interchange on the west side of town.

I was wondering the same thing about the I-840 shield. Also going northbound on I-85 at thI-73 interchange on the south side of town there are no directional signs that say "to I-40". I notice little details like that lol plus there are no Greensboro City Limit signs coming into Greensboro on business 85 near Wet n Wild. It actually should be placed at the loop because the entire loop has been annexed into the city.
How much traffic uses the northern half of the Greensboro Beltway? I’ve never been on that portion.
I drive it about once or twice/month. Traffic is generally pretty light on it though I can't speak much for rush hour. I also wouldn't say I've ever seen it empty either.
