We've been searching for outstanding breakfast in the area and have not found any. We like Interesting cafe's or unique diner's. We've tried these places and were not too impressed: Mary Beth's, The Green Room, Larkins, Coach House. Not interested in Waffle House and other junkie food. also looking for decent prices and variety on menu. Any suggestions? Breakfast or brunch?

This is a difficult set of requirements to guess what might work, but I'll take a shot:

Stax Omega
Mimi's Cafe (@ Shops at Greenridge)

Well, if you hated all of those fine establishments I don't know what to tell you sadly.

I didn't hate any of them. Just looking for more variety on the menu at a fair price.

Well, it is only open on Saturdays for breakfast, but try The Cafe @ Williams Hardware in downtown Travelers Rest. Unique place with some great food. The Café @ Williams Hardware | Hometown Pride. Good Food. Better Friends.

The original Staxx on Pointsett Highway is good. By no means fancy...but good food. High Cotton has a good breakfast too I believe.

Roost, the new restaurant opening in the Hyatt should have a very interesting and reasonably priced breakfast offering. I've had a gander at the menu. Should be open late this month.

TJ,

Not the healthiest place, but definitely unique and worth a Saturday morning drive for:
Grits & Groceries; Real Food, Done Real Good. 864-296-3316 Belton, SC
Cute little place on the side of the road. Can't miss the big chicken outside. Excellent, hearty breakfast. Fun place.

Also, a bit of a ways, but when you're in Highlands, NC, try the Old Edwards Inn for breakfast. We didn't stay there but went over for breakfast. Real nice. I think they had fresh OJ if I remember correctly.... been a while (always in enjoy fresh squeezed). Won't break the bank either.

Try Tommy's Country Ham House (Tommy's Country Ham House | Where Friends and Families Come Together). Tommy makes his own sausage and everything is fresh.
