It would indeed be great to have a big new mall along 85 between Greenville and Spartanburg. Serving all of the Upstate and Western NC. With Belk, Dillard's, and Macy's of course. And a JCPenney. But instead of Sears, add a more upscale option such as Nordstrom. And have a Cheesecake Factory and a large indoor food court, as well as outdoor shopping plaza. And a large multiscreen cinema with the Omnimax screen. And several outlying restaurants such as Long Horn, Olive Garden, and Ruby Tuesday. And a Denny's or IHOP, although I would love to see a Big Boy. And for fast food, a Wendy's, Culver's, Popeyes, Panda Express, and McDonald's. And a QuikTrip. Basically build a Mall of Georgia for Upstate SC. But unlikely to happen, as the current plan is to renovate Haywood Mall, and Westgate still serves Spartanburg. Not sure if the GSP area would support another large mall.
