My husband is considering relocating there and plans to work in the greenwood area.He doesn't mind commuting a hr each way maximum. We have two kids 3 and 1 yr old. My main focus is looking for a good elementary school for my 3 yr old..Also is charter better or should i go with public? I did some research and saw greenville and simpsonville are a good area for schools. Is that true? If everything works out we wanted to buy a home ( newly built house or a lot)with wanted a low crime rate . I also like living near the city since i grew up in one rather than a rural area. Can someone please tell me where indians (asian) live or a place where it is more ethnic diverse? Thank you in advance

To commute to Greenwood and be within an hour, you have several options. Simpsonville is the first area that comes to mind. Quite a number of people that I work with in Greenwood commute from that area. As to where the Indian population lives, I'm going to refer you to a previously posted thread:

The drive from Greenwood to Simpsonville will be every bit of an hour - I would imagine that would get old quickly. You also need to consider the wear and tear on a car that drives 500 miles a week just for work. The cost of gas will also be expensive over time.

If I was looking at a job in Greenwood, I'd consider living in either Ninety Six (small community near Greenwood with good schools) or the Belton / Honea Path area (small town between Greenwood and Anderson with good schools). The downside to those two options is they are both smaller towns that may not have the Indian community you are looking for.
