Don't look now but we COULD have another winter weather system similar to this one (maybe even stronger) brewing for next weekend. The models are trying to get a handle on it at the current moment. The temps are still iffy.

We ended up with about 4 inches. The sun is out today and it is melting quickly. We played in the snow all morning with the grandbaby. We got to sled and build a snowman. She loved it.

my neighborhood roads are nearly clear now - this a great winter storm: dump some snow (not much), enjoy the beauty (for a short time), and then melt the same day; occurring on a weekend is a bonus (when most people are off to enjoy it)

Yea, that's one of pros of living here. It's nothing like up north and you can enjoy it without getting sick and tired of it.

Now if we can just get everyone adjusted to simply accepting an occasional bonus day off work/school. There has always been some quiet method behind all the winter madness... LOL

I'm thankful to have the weekend off and not have to work in this mess. Hoping all my co workers make it home to their families safe and sound this weekend.

The locals mets catch a lot of heat for missing on winter forecasts, but winter weather around here is very difficult to predict, and it's much better to be prepared than not (think Atlanta a few years ago, Washington DC a few weeks ago).

And the bread and milk thing is way overplayed.

Those are just code words.... we really make snow runs for beer and birth control. I used to get occasional opportunities for having a drink with Charlie Gertz. Charlie was a very accomplished local met and notably talented drinker, who was once a hurricane hunter in the USAF. He told a group of us, one evening, that one of the very few things even less predictable than one of those flights was tomorrow's weather in the local GSP market.

Its Tuesday and I still have a little bit of snow left on my grass. Seems some of the snow just does not want to go away.
