Greenville and Spartanburg are both under a winter storm watch.

Has anyone heard what Chris Justus is predicting? if so, divide the snow total by 1/2

Ice. The latest NAM and GFS models have come in colder and wetter though.

I see ice first then 4-6 inches of snow possible.

Much more snow coming Friday; concerns about ice storm increase | Weather - WYFF Home

Considering temps are supposed to be in the 40's on Saturday and 50's on Sunday.. I expect the only difference between a normal winter event in the area and this year will be that only 1 day of school will be cancelled (Friday) for no good reason.

If this were projected to hit on Monday night, they'd already have cancelled Monday and Tuesday.

Usually what ever amount of snow they predict, it ends up being less than 1/2.
Fingers crossed since I have to be in NYC on the 29th. Do you think it will be melted by then?

Haha this is cute. Following Greenville because we are planning a move there in the first quarter of 2018. We've been in the -20 wind chill range for a couple weeks. Heat wave this week highs in the 20's.

Bottom line, if you guys are just getting some "winter" (which is highly debatable where I come from) I know I am making the right move!

Ive lived here all my life and it still amazes me at how crazy people go over snow and ice. Weather guessers are the worse now for whatever reason, and I think its funny that the main 2 culprits for sending people into a panic is John C (4) and Chris J (4). Christy H (7) does a forecast to cover her no matter what happens! BEst weather guesser in the Upstate id is Dan Bickford(7)!! He should be Chief Meteorologist!!

Then theres the nuts who feel they have to get on the roads. I have spent more time in weather traffic than I care to remember due to somebody who just cant drive in the snow or ice. Spent 7 hours in my truck back in, what year was it, 04, when we had the big ice storm, because some idiots don't know how to slow down.

I hope we don't get too much ice- there's not much you can do in ice without studded tires.

Words of wisdom John.

Usually the ice doesn't last that long, so if an ice storm is predicted, prepare to stay home a day or two.

I doubt if we see a serious ice storm this year.
