I was thinking about it and I think it would be really awesome if that when K-mart closes (it will happen eventually), that Target would be opens in K-mart's old space and the Bi-lo would renovate to become a Super Bi-lo. Then a few restaurants could be added as outparcels. I think that would be a good way to reuse a site. They could renovate the exteriors of everything to make it match... maybe brick with accents (?) and they also really need some trees and landscaping.
Bi-Lo may close also. Its sales have become sluggish after Walmart's relocation. Ingle's remained stable through continuing modifications, including its eventual pharmacy addition.

I don't think that the Kmart/BiLo plaza could accomodate a Super Bilo and a Target in the current structures. Kmart is rather small, and Bilo is an average size. Now, if Kmart goes out, and Bilo expands into a portion of the old Kmart space, that could work. Now we are left with economic feasibility...

Please, Quick off topic question...Does anyone know the story with the Easley Carwash? They've been closed for months.

I'd rather Bi-lo close and Target use both buildings to build a new store. If they could incorporate the land that houses Easley Cinema and added a new theater, this would be the hottest place to be in Easley haha. It would be a good location (existing roads, lights) and it is close to Easley Town Center and the center of population in the area.

Out of business. Could not compete with the new car wash at the other end of 123.

I agree. Whats so great about a Super Bilo? Its a bunch of wasted space. Put Target in that location and now you have something worth visiting.

Yes, I would prefer a Target over a Super BiLo, but I just figured that it is more likely that Kmart will close before BiLo does.

Ideally, they both close, the buildings get knocked down, and Target builds a new structure across the whole space. We'll see...

Thanks for the reply....But I have a hard time believing that was their sole demise.

Easley's Kmart does very well than its slowly dying Wade Hampton counterpart in Greenville. Its close proximity to Walmart provides a doable alternative.

Super Bi-Lo was Bi-Lo's attempt to offer more amenities and better offerings in a higher tier store. Instead of expanding the Super Bi-Lo banner, Bi-Lo used concepts strictly for Super Bi-Lo in its select store updates. With several Bi-Lo stores closing, updates for other stores may speed up.

Sorry, But Kmart was terminal before WM even opened their doors.

Shouldn't be much longer....
