Bi-Lo ending their partnership with the Gamecocks. Clemson unclear but store there already closed anyway.

Southeastern Grocers ending partnerships with collegiate athletic programs is not a surprise. Increasing debt and stores closing leaves no funds to sponsor programs.

The clock is ticking on BI-LO's partnership with Clemson. I have heard the partnership is ending and another supermarket will start a partnership.

You can still get Clemson blue-cheese dressing at Bi-Lo and I do not see this in Publix's selection of salad dressings. I enjoy this dressing.

I have seen the Clemson Best Ice Cream at Ingles before. Not sure if they stock the dressing.

I have a friend who's son is developmentally challenged (or whatever the term is these days). He worked at Bi-Lo for 22 years until his store closed. He was such a popular bagger that people would request him. It's going to be hard for him to find another job.

Is there a Publix or Ingle's nearby? I would think they might work with him. I have seen a similar situation at Publix and that bagger is very good and very well liked as well.

Publix will take him on in a heartbeat. That is one of their standards. Both here and in Florida, they hire phsically capable handicap people for that postion. At the Furman area store, one is now a produce manager and another id a full time cashier. Great to see them working with theses kids and giving them a chance to move up.

Harris Teeter would hire him as well. That was my son's first job- bagger at HT. Don't know if it is true at all of the stores but he did have an issue at the one he worked out; aside from bagging, bringing in carts, and cleaning g up spills he was also expected to clean the bathroom and empty the trash, chores which made him nauseous, due to his increased sensitivity.

Southeastern Grocers closed one BI-LO store in Hilton Head Island in June and will close another store in Goose Creek in August. Additional stores will be announced to close.
