I'm finally able to add a few photos again. Hope you are still enjoying this thread!

You can see in this shot that the new mixed-use hotel/office/retail/restaurant building should contribute quite a bit of character to South Main Street:

You may have to view the large version of this photo on flickr to see how the new mixed-use building is taking shape in the skyline over the falls:

The shop seen at the corner and along the side of this old cotton warehouse is Spill The Beans, a favorite place to relax in the vibrant and historic West End. The shop actually extends to the rear of the building, with windows overlooking Falls Park and the Reedy River:

Here is another photo, this time of Overlook Grill. I posted the large version so you are able to see the details a little more clearly:

I didn't look at these photos before I visited last month - which is fine, because I was very impressed in person. I'm still creeped out by the Reedy River Park pedestrian bridge, though. It sways big time. Ate at the Lazy Goat, and maybe (just maybe) will try Larkin's next time, in order to celebrate the official job offer.

What do apartments on Main Street run in terms of rent? The condos are expensive, like Charlotte prices. I need something with a parking garage, as I'll be commuting into downtown Spartanburg. No, don't try to sell me on living in Spartanburg; I want to live in Greenville.

(Laughs in advance of envisioning all of the would-be Spartanburg boosters doing this: or this )
