Just off S.C. 81 in Anderson, a soon-to-be-open restaurant has a familiar barbecue chef at the smoker.
Stoney Mills believes in one kind of barbecue: the kind that comes from his family's 70-year-old recipe. The recipe starts with pork that is cooked 14 hours over hickory. It ends with a plate full of mustard-based barbecue.

I ate at Joe's New York Pizza in Clemson at the Patrick Square neighborhood town center. It is right off 123 at the Issaquenna Trial exit. The address is 104 Thomas Green Blvd, Clemson, SC 29631.
There is also one in Seneca near the move theatre.
I thought it was good, and the restaurant in Clemson is a large space and has a nice atmosphere.

My wife and I were invited to a soft opening last night at Kitchen Sync. This is a new, local restaurant on Laurens Road (near Schwaben House). The owners have done a phenomenal job transforming the old Coble Dairy building into a functional space (with an open, spacious kitchen). When possible, reclaimed materials were used for the interior remodel.
This restaurant emphasizes local, fresh, ingredients. Our meals were great and prices seem appropriate for the quality.
Last word: KS offers made-to-order pizzas that are just as good as Sidewall Pizza.
Noticed some activity at the old Back Yard Burgers / Halton Rd Grill building. Landscapers are cleaning up the property and the building is being re-painted.
