I think what he means is that within the city limits there are only about 55,000 people, although it felt a lot bigger than that to me. but the metro area is big, really big. most people live in the suburbs. that's probably what he meant. as for the word yankee, it isn't a slur, it's a baseball team. a baseball team I can't stand, go tigers!

I have read such wonderful things about the Greenville area. Is their anyone who has moved to Greenville, or the suburbs, from out of state and come to regret that decision? If so, why?
The key to Greenville is that you definitely come for a visit. No matter what information you receive online, none of that - no matter how true or false - will be able to replace the experience you receive when you visit this place in person. There is just no way possible to express the endearing charm through words and pictures alone.
Hey Skyliner,
I have seen your name all over every post I look at for Greenville so I figured I would come to you with my question. I am moving down the the area sometime in July. I was wondering what area you would recommend to live in. I have been looking between Greer, Taylors, Traverlers Rest, Mauldin, and Easley. I have 4 children so ofcourse I want to be the best and safest area possible. Most off the areas look pretty good and they all rate about the same in criminal activity but it is hard to know from looking on line. I did visit a couple of days ago but I was only in town for two days so I didnt get to look around to much. I was offered a position at Riverside Middle and I took it because the area seemed very nice (actually I canceled all my North Carolina interviews after the offer because I thought Greenville looked like a better place to live the Fayettville or Harnett County NC). Anyways any info you have would be grestly appreciated.\

I am from Detroit and I will second the go tigers chant. We will be moving to Greenville area in a couple of months. I will miss my Mich sport teams but I guess thats why they invented direct tv.

I'm a lifelong North Carolinian in the process of moving to Greer because of my husband's job transfer. Take my word for it... you made a great decision.
We're also getting packed up to move to Easley at the end of the month from California. Seems like everyone we mention it to says they have friends/family who live in the area who absolutely love it.
