But how true is this? I don't think all died peacefully. Some people died really difficult, maby they don't want to die and tried desperately to stay alive.
I myself know 2 people who did said they will fight if death comes. And you?
Surely not everyone died peacefully, there are people who, because of strong-will they tried to habg on as long as possible!
Your opinion?

Reason: corrected for the spelling police
Those words for the most part are used for lack of better choice. Some do die in sleep and others not easily after fighting illness such as cancer, life might be prolonged by a few months but misery ensues.
I think I'd like to take Dylan Thomas's words to heart when I come close to death
Quote:
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night....
I want to live for as long as I can and continue to do as much as I can. As far as other people dying peacefully, I don't know. There is the whole dying in their sleep thing. From an outside observer I guess they'd look peaceful. I wouldn't know what the person experiencing death would be feeling or thinking.

A person who dies as a result of an accident or sudden illness such as a fatal heart attack or a stroke might be said to have "died suddenly", while a person who had been ill for some time or was of extreme old age might be ready to simply close their eyes and go "peacefully."
Of course not. Some people die peacefully, some don't. My mother died peacefully because she was asleep. If a person is looking at a murderer who is going to slit his throat, he isn't so peaceful. If a person is unconscious, most likely death is peaceful.
I believe many cancer patients have suffered so much that the actual death seems peaceful because they are drugged out on painkillers.
This is true. most dying patients are given enough pain killers to ease the body. Thus, they are "peaceful" Even those that arent given anything will lapse into an unconscious state for a short while before they truly die.
It would be unusual for a person to die, screaming and fighting. It may work that way for some, but for most, those last few minutes or hours, will be quiet and motionless. You can call it peaceful if you want to.

My wife's grandpa might have died peacefully, but getting to that point was anything but peaceful. Cancer had spread to his spine and though he was not concious he tossed and turned in pain, often moaning out loud. This was with a morphine drip, morphine patch, and morphine shots.
