We're just back from seeing Miranda's surgeon, he will remove her port-a-cath on November 3rd! Now we can really start planning our Thanksgiving vacation (well, post Thanksgiving, actually. More about this later.)
I hope this is confirmation of the recent good news about her health.

Sudcaro, this sounds like positive and wonderful news for Miranda. Always in my prayers.

I love hearing that sudcaro--I still keep you all in my prayers daily!
Drove around to a few car dealerships to see what they had to offer and what they would be willing to give me for my truck. For a trade in I would be getting a great price but if they don't have what I want...well back to square A. I stopped at 3 places and all were fairly close in prices just didn't have much to offer to me for a car. So I will keep looking. My poor son is really trying to help me too while working--bless his heart. I guess his company layed of 50 million people--that is stores across the US but none the less now that extra work has to be done by who is still there--like he wasn't already to busy. I just hate him having to help me too. I'm doing my best to keep looking and getting prices. It's just not my cup of tea.....At least the weather is pretty.

cyn.....I don't know what you are looking for and what your price range is...(don't tell me...I don't need to know); We have had very good luck with a Honda CR-V. Now we have a Subaru....and love it (usually a little more expensive than Toyota). My son just bought a used Toyota Camry and he likes it.

I think the Japanese cars are reliable, hold their value and are safe to drive.

If you are taking suggestions, Cyn, may I suggest a Hyundai. Good, reliable cars with a great 100K miles or 10 year guarantee. Better priced than Toyota. Don't know about Honda, never had one. I love my Hyundai Elentra GT. Hatchback that is so versatile. Good luck with the car hunting.

Good morning elston and all to come!
So far I have been looking at Honda's and Toyota's but there hasn't been much of a selection in these smaller car lots. I use to have a Mazda MX6 and loved it but it was more then I need. Lots of power and I don't need that now. I think the Hyundai may be the direction I will go in so I can get a nearly new car with a warranty. My truck amazed me with what they offered at a car lot--so that made me happy---just nothing to choose from did make it a long day without a lot fun but maybe today if it doesn't rain. There is no doubt I have to drive to the city, Charlotte to find any selections.
I have so much going on in my head it's hard to concentrate on car hunting and doing it the right way. I suppose that is why they suggest you don't make any major decisions in the first year of grieving. Makes sense to me.

When you buy a "new" used Hyundai, cyn, you get the remainder of the 100K, 10 year warranty. That's how I discovered Hyundai was such a nice vehicle. Then I bought new this year.

Cyn how about leasing something for a couple of years and then see what you like?

Cyn......the car decisions can wait.....I didn't mean to rush you in any way. All things in their own time.
