Sometimes I feel like people work so much they have no time to enjoy life

You are right, cyn, for instance, I work with a woman who has 5 jobs. I kid you not. I have asked her again and she explained that two of the medical jobs are PRN, or "as needed" jobs. But she said that one of those jobs calls her in "all of the time." So she is literally working just about all of her available time. I could not do that same thing. No way. We have to live on a certain amount of money, then, but I need time off for what I consider to be more important: God and how to worship Him properly. God is number one, family comes next, work comes after that, then making money.

You might just put in your application and be very specific about how many hours and which hours you are willing to work. Since you are experienced you have leverage. That way, you won't take the chance of getting hired and having your schedule be terrible, or all over the place. If you get an offer, then your current boss can either accommodate you, or not.

I hope so too Dude!
I have a therapy appointment for my arms at the "Y" and then off to see the Hospice counselor. Then I need to pick up a few items to prepare for Thanksgiving at my sons house so my day will be busy at least in the early part!
My neighbors dogs were barking all night last night--lots of deer out right and even heard there have been a couple of bear sightings in the area.
I talked to my boss yesterday and just found out we are not open on Thanksgiving! That's good.
Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Glad your store is closed on T day......doggies can eat turkey that day. Enjoy your visit with family. Are you taking deviled eggs? I think I remember that was a special request from a grandchild last year.

Holiday prep is fun.....we arent cooking or going for the traditional Thanksgiving meal.....but I am cooking turkey wings in the oven tonight and have some turkey parts with spices and celery etc....simmering now.....Its a cold morning and I thought it would be a cheery holiday smell in the house. Its working.

We arent going out Thursday until evening.....so I will try to have some hors d oeurvres during the day.

I may make a frozen apple pie Thursday morning .... My DP would probably enjoy that and it would smell like a holiday in the house. (I cant eat it on my diet).

I bought 2 large packs of the pearl onions---more then I need I know but they enjoy them so much I decided may as well make more then less! I also bought the 18 pack of eggs so that will be 36 deviled eggs and there are never to many of those. I am not really excited about cooking but because my kids and grandkids will enjoy them it makes it worth my while!

do you use nutmeg in your cream sauce for the onions? I used to love creamed onions...my father always made them....but I havent had them for years and years. I think I made them myself ..... but not for a long long time.

My grand daughter used to love deviled eggs.....a big fav or hers at Thanksgvg.....I made my style; a great great grandmother made her style and an aunt made them with anchovy....and piped them back into the egg white.
