Oh I have no doubt Baxter will agree with the nap--to get to snuggle with you!

It was so hot last night and I turned on my A/C for the back of the house---the one the fan burned out of last year and smelled like an electrical fire. Well after running about an hour it got that smell again and this time it was making me cough and even the cats were coughing in the living room. Scared me so I turned it off and just used the ceiling fan. I was told this unit was in need of replacement but at $5,000 I was praying it would last a bit longer. I do have one heat pump for the den so maybe I'll just sleep in there for awhile. I know I do need a heater and A/C for the back of the house soon but have to do what I can do right now. It's always something!!
I work tonight. Have a blessed day everyone!

Would a couple box fans cool you off enough, cyn? I doubt it. Our A/C unit, a RUUD, came with the house 21 years ago. Still running strong, the owners before us had it regularly serviced. We got an estimate for a new natural gas furnace and new A/C for $5,300. That was the lower of the two estimates we got.

We'll keep our furnace and A/C serviced and hope they both hang together. Hope you can get something worked out, cyn!

That’s the joke around our house. We keep our old one serviced, too, so it’s a contest to see which will give out first, us or the A/C.

I am so scared of those fumes and it making me cough so I shut all the vents to that A/C and am going to hope the small HVAC in the den will be able to help cool my bedroom. I will keep the ceiling fan on and keep the shades closed too during the day!

I have been seeing a small portable air conditioner advertised on tv. (I think it may be similar to a "swamp cooler"? as it runs on water. )

Very mixed reviews..........but hey its only $39. Just don't expect it to cool your house....just a limited area.

Someone at Sunday school mentioned this so maybe I will check it out. Tonight will be the tell all as to whether or not my den heat pump is strong enough to cool back to my bedroom. I'm keeping all the shades down today except a couple of windows that don't have any and have the ceiling fans on low. Praying!!

Work was okay but I really wanted to get going on the a/c situation. Course nothing was open yesterday anyhow but this morning I will contact the guy that originally did work on the old a/c and see if he will stand by the original price he gave me last year for a new heat pump. If not then I will probably have to start looking around. It was hot in my bedroom last night but did manage to get some sleep. Feeling pretty over whelmed!
Have a blessed day everyone!

I did contact the people who came out before this morning. Still waiting to hear back from them. He sounded like he'd get it done...not sure how long it will take. I am so very stressed from just waiting. Boy I miss my DH more then ever in times like this!
