Please enlighten me how Texas is better or even equal to WY, AZ, KY, UT, not to mention 20+ other some states that have shall-issue and allow open carry with very few other restrictions.

Vermont has some brutal winters and not much going on economically.

Alaska: not wasting my time explaining why you should not live there

Wyoming: it's nice if you are independently wealthy and dont mind living in the middle of nowhere

I dont know who Larry Pratt is, but honestly Florida and Texas are the two best states for gun rights that are also civilized and you dont have to live in the middle of nowhere and there are actually jobs.
Florida if you are into massive humidity and bugs. Hurricanes and crime. I had to zing back after that AZ stuff.
Our economy isn't that bad. Many like the dry heat.Northern AZ is a different place than say the Phoenix area.
Easy gun laws. Cops don't freak out if you have a gun.

Well, normally I would say Texas. Have at least 10 acres of land and you can shoot on it......and land is dirt cheap in some of the outlying regions, like Van Horn, Culberson County, Texas land for sale - 20 acres at LandWatch.com .

As I said, normally.........the catch is a lot of people are moving into Texas and stressing the aquifers.

So, no offense, but I'm not to sure if I want more people here.

Really, anymore there are only a few "bright blue" states where it's a PITA to own guns and shoot. I am not sure if the OP is into hunting or not, but about the only blue state with good hunting (in places) is Cali, which would be out for other reasons. All up and down "Cascadia" there are gun-friendly states with good hunting and other desirable characteristics like climate, low taxes, etc.

At the same time, I have to point out that no one is "friendly" to an idiot shooter. If you are bouncing ricochets around, shooting something really loud late in the evening, etc. most anywhere you will be (rightly, IMHO) called out on it.

State laws change dramatically based on what part is in power at the state legislation level. My adopted state of MS I would guess would be in the top 5 now - in 2015 and 2016 the state adopted "constitutional carry". We also have a tax free weekend program for gun and related gun accessory sales that's literally called by the state the "2nd amendment tax free weekend".

Land in Texas is all private. You cant drive out to the sticks and shoot. You have to go to a range, buy property or have a friend who owns land.

Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming would be better.
