You are failing to grasp this will impact all ammo in the long run and is the first strike in decreasing ammo supply. If they cannot ban guns they will go after the ammo. Reminds me when renters vote to increase property taxes because they don't own property and don't think they will be impacted and shocked when they see their rent increase.
I wouldn't buy Chinese ammo, either, if it were available.
I ran gobs of Norinco 7.62x39 through my AK and SKSs back in the early 90s. Was sad when they stopped bringing it in the country. Cheap and pretty reliable stuff!
Only if you can get components.
Not many people on here know how to:
Cast Bullets,
Make powder,
Stamp brass into cartridges
Make priming compound
Don't forget making fulmate of mercury and making primers.
Casting bullets and making black powder aren't that complicated, (although you do need a source of sulphur, Salpeter and charcoal aren't hard to get), using a flintlock rifle takes care of ignition. Not the best option, but it works.
I use a lot of archery tackle. A good recurve using sinew to increase the strength isn't that hard to do, making a longbow is easier. Making arrows and fletching them isn't difficult, knapping stone to make arrowheads takes some practice, but a good file and a piece of strap steel will get you a bunch of arrowheads in a hurry.
Works pretty well, and you don't have to worry about running out of ammo.
Or use a shepherd's sling, then all you need for ammo is rocks although you can make ammo out of baked clay or steel ball bearings.
Kudo's to the folks that had the foresight to stock when times were good.
That would be me Except I stocked up on plenty of ammo
Learned lessons from Sandy Hook & applied it during the Trump administration when the prices were low and the supply was plenty.
