Ah, but "Hispanic" is not a race, it's an ethnic group, largely comprised of racial Whites. So when we look at all Whites together, we find that the White racial composition of the states mentioned are:

New Mexico 83.2%
California 73.7%
Texas 80.6%

Hawai'i 26.1%

Clearly Hawai'i has a unique racial makeup, just as Hawaiian by Heart said.

.
Where did he or I say anything about "race"

Mahalo for your posts guys.

Aloha, howzit?

Is there racism in Hawai'i? Yes, hatred, ignorance isn't unique just to Hawai'i. But its an untruth that all locals or Native Hawai'ians are racist towards Haoles(forigners, whites)

Often i find that people mistake an attitude of intolerance towards a way of thinking as racism. My experience is most locals and Native Hawai'ians are very kind and have alot of Aloha. But you have to make efforts to learn the customs, traditions of the area, by doing this you show respect and have patience because locals are used to peoples coming and leaving, so must will wait to see if you will stay before getting close.

Of course this is from my experience and my perceptions. Do you argee with it?

Aloha,

People of Hawai'i can be superstitious? True for good reason. Rational minded people will tell you that there is no such thing as ghosts(obake), magic, old gods. In the mainland i would tend to agree but the rules don't aply for some reason in Hawai'i. People push away the ideal of madam Pele(Godess of fire) as fictional when by documentted proof its not healthy to take her lava stones or black sand with you when u leave to the Mainland. For years park rangers from volcano national park services on the Big Island receive letters and packages from the mainland asking them to return home madam Peles lava rocks to her because bad things seen to always happen. We have a saying in Hawai'i "you maynot believe, but you better respect anyway"

Aloha

I have always had a Aloha (love) for obake(ghost) talk stories. And Hawai'i is full of them. Because of the great blend of cultures on the islands you get some of the best chicken skin stories. Not only do you get the chicken skin effect but obake talkstories are a way of learning about History and spiritual beliefs of the past. One author that i respectted was Glen Grant and his many books on Hawai'i Obake talkstories, he not only shared what locals passed down by talkstory but also tried to share historical references. One of his best books Obake Files: Ghostly Encounters in Supernatural Hawaii by Glen Grant - Reviews, Discussion, Bookclubs, Lists
Glen past away recently but his hard work to preserve the folklore of Hawai'i remains with not only good books but alot of good projects in the community r.i.p.

People use names to market things. Isn't there a Kona Ice franchise based in Texas? The most popular brand of flip-flops made in Brazil (and sold in other countries, too), is Havianas (Hawaiians). You can buy "Kona coffee" (maybe with word "blend" after it) that is labeled as being just 10% actual Kona coffee.
