People use names to market things. Isn't there a Kona Ice franchise based in Texas? The most popular brand of flip-flops made in Brazil (and sold in other countries, too), is Havianas (Hawaiians). You can buy "Kona coffee" (maybe with word "blend" after it) that is labeled as being just 10% actual Kona coffee.
Mahalo for your post, and Aloha, welcome to CDF.
Anyone else like to share some falsehoods or urban legands of Hawai'i that isn't true.
A myth of Hawai'i is that success in living there is based on money, personally i believe the way to success is to be flexable to change and to have your head in the clouds and your feet firmly on the ground. To be able to fall in love with uniqueness.
Hawai'i is a different place, different culture, different custems. A person who is unable to adapt won't make it. Just my opinion.
An untruth about Hawai'i is its paradise, for some yes for others no. The vision of paradise is of one where everyone will be happy, living in harmony with eachother, well if you follow CDF Hawai'i forum long enough you will learn that isn't the case. Paradise in my opinion is a state of mind, that the first step to entering it is by accepting that its possible. The next step is to have passion and look at Hawai'i like you are a child(be a dreamer but keep your feet firmly on the ground) getting excited about Christmas. And lastly find your things that you love and fall back on it when you feel no Aloha, for me its listening to Hawai'ian music, or finding things from my hanabata(nosebutter, child) times. Because there are negative and hateful, petty people in Hawai'i too that didn't get the notice about aloha and paradise. But don't worry too much for the most part majority of ppl in Hawai'i are kind, caring and live with Aloha.
No, it's not really any different than the West Coast here in Honolulu except for the warmer weather and more Asians. I live here and just telling it like it is. You keep portraying Hawaii something that you wish it would be and want to relive its past. In the present day it is like anywhere else.

You need to stop with your harrasment. That also another thing that is different culturally from western culture, everything is not about you viper its about we. You keep saying you and honolulu, there are tons of other people using cdf Hawai'i, there are alot more towns/cities/islands then honolulu, oahu in Hawai'i. All my threads are Hawai'i not oahu or specific. ok?
Omg wiper now your getting desperate, please stop before you make more of a fool of yourself then you already are. E'Pupule hupo pa'a ka waha okole puka!
Is old Hawai'i gone? Some people say no some say yes. The Buildings and trappings are gone yes. But old beliefs and culture lives today in Modern Hawai'ian music, Hula and local attitudes. Its all the same songs, dances and what made a local a local generations ago remains the same today only with different people. Is it possible to lose the local Hawai'i culture? Yes with globalization and etc. That day when it comes will be a sad day. Aloha
Heres a link to remind us of what is gone but what is still here.
That WAS an interesting read. Not a single post in the entire thread badgering others to add their favorite whatever story to it! Thanks for sharing, McFrostyJ!
I wasn't allowed to rep you again.
