I don't scream and yell, and this thread is about neither.

I'm with you - I don't scream and yell either, but I have been known to "Twist and Shout".. (I prefer the Isley Brothers version)

Happy New Year!

I don't know how effective non-gmo labels would be. Someone made the comparison to no-msg, but really who looks for those labels? I have found msg in food items I would have never thought it was in there. That said, a non-gmo label would be easiest to do. The best way to do that would be to petition to walmart or maybe local grocery stores and they could require companies to label their products. If one chain started doing that it might catch on and others follow suit. If businesses know there is a market for non-gmo foods they will supply it.

The truth is I don't think the majority of people care about gmo vs non-gmo, I would take a further guess and say most people don't know what gmo is.

We like Starbucks. Of course I don't really drink coffee but will get an occasional Cafe Latte, which is just steamed milk infused black, right? No sugar. (cuz my sugar comes in the form of chocolate fudge brownie ice cream nuts stuff) My guy just goes for black coffee and prefers a pour-over. (black and strong, the opposite of.... nevermind)

I found an Asian "drink and dessert" establishment here called Bambu. I liked the coffee there and found out he uses Starbucks and Newman's.

We did notice the Seattle's Best has the same street address as Starbucks. And it's cheaper. I enjoyed the Starbuck's history OpenD. You're awesome.

Neil Young. Wow. I saw him in the 70's. Rust Never Sleeps. Interesting stage crew! What appeared to be midgets dressed as Grim Reapers with glowing red eyes. Glad to hear he's staying active!

Nope, as usual posters have hijacked the thread.

I agree with that, I just found it somewhat interesting that Starbucks would get so involved in the issue.

Gee and here i thought i was the only one who hijacks threads, if you listen to some people? Interesting when one group does it no real stink, when others do its a crime.

It has been somewhat clumsy in some instances and not all acquisitions work, but if there is money to be made (particularly at the increased margins of Org/Nat grocery), then you can bet the big players will be involved. For them, Organics are simply another revenue stream.
True there is big money in 'organic' and so many people are more than willing to pay a bit more to 'support the cause' to have more natural, less processed foods in the markets in general. I guess the whole GMO thing makes some feel the food is less natural which is true in some cases.

Some GMO stuff is a little creepy to me - trying to cross shrimp with wheat to increase protein content, for example, sounds reasonable but I still picture whole fields of wheat trying to slither away at harvest time!
